Tulsa Claims 12 Top-Three Marks in Final Day of ORU Invitational

The Tulsa track and field teams combined for 12 top-three marks in the final day of competition at the ORU Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the ONEOK Sports Complex.
WOMEN
On the women's side, Jaidyn McCallon earned a top finish in the 400-meter dash, while four Golden Hurricane student-athletes captured second-place marks and two had third-place finishes.
In the 400-meter dash, Tulsa claimed first, second and third-place marks as Jaidyn McCallon crossed the finish line first in a time of 54.94, while Elizabeth Roca was second (56.36) and Ca'Purnika Galbert finished third (57.10). Kaitlyn Johnson was seventh with a time of 59.18.
In the 4x400-meter relay, Elizabeth Roca, Kaitlyn Johnson, Jaidyn McCallon and Jaidah McCallon turned in a second-place time of 3:49.43, 3.43 seconds behind Kansas' 'A' team.
Carsyn Spurgeon registered a long jump of 5.74m (18-10.00) for second place, just two inches shy of South Dakota State's Emily Altenburg's first-place distance of 5.79m (19-0.00).
In the 1,500-Meter Run, Caroline Miller earned a second-place mark in a time of 4:33.21, 5.2 seconds behind Kansas' Ally Ryan (4:28.01). Keely Jones finished third with a time of 4:34.02, while Alice Newcombe was fourth (4:38.07) and Chloe Hershenow was seventh (4:58.78).
Kylee Reed registered a fifth-place time of 19:21.54 in the 5,000-meter run, while Cara Johnson and Hannah Booe earned sixth and seventh-place times of 12.33 and 12.52, respectively, in the 100-meter dash. Rachel Hamel had a seventh-place time of 14.67 in the 100-meter hurdles.
MEN
On the men's side, Greg Fehribach won the 1,500-meter run, while two TU athletes finished second and two recorded third-place marks.
Greg Fehribach (3:57.23), Jerik Embleton (3:57.77) and Chris McLeod (3:58.36) swept the 1,500-meter run with first, second and third-place marks, respectively. Reed Sahadevan (5 – 3:59.83), Ryan Shumaker (7 – 4:00.26), Brett Davis (9 – 4:03.27) and Colton Palmer (19 – 4:19.90) round out the TU runners in the race.
Josh Sutton earned a second-place time of 10.54 in the 100-meter dash, just 0.11 seconds behind South Dakota State's Coby Hilton (10.45). The Golden Hurricane's Henry Visser finished sixth (11.00) and Emmanuel Okwuone was ninth (11.35).
In the 4x400-meter relay, Henry Visser, Kyran Lacy, Jemeni McGee and Emmanuel Okwuone recorded a time of 3:19.50 for third place, trailing Oral Roberts (3:13.16) and South Dakota State (3:18.27).
In the 400-meter run, Kyran Lacy posted a time of 48.78 for a fourth-place mark, while Jemeni McGee finished 10th (50.28) and Daryl Turner was 13th (50.82).
Henry Williams (7 – 15:51.52), Michael Gates (8 – 16:02.04) and Ben Black (10 – 16:19.87) competed in the 5,000-meter run for TU.
