TU Student-Athletes Celebrate Appreciation Week

TULSA, Okla. –– The past week was Student-Athlete Appreciation Week at The University of Tulsa.
 
Activities for the week have included socially distanced social events to attending athletic events on campus. On Monday, Tulsa student-athletes had the opportunity to participate in a SHAPE Takeover in helping student-athletes identifying stress and learning about mental health.
 
An evening social featuring S'mores took place on Tuesday at the TU Outdoor Space at Chapman Stadium Thomas Plaza. Student-athletes were also encouraged to share a story about a teammate on #TeammateTuesday.
 
It was Senior Day at men's and women's tennis on #WellnessWednesday, when student-athletes shared tips, tricks and routines on how to prepare physically and mentally to deal with a demanding schedule that face student-athletes.
 
It was Hamburger Night at the TU Outdoor Space on Hurricane Thursday. Student-athletes also shared stories of their favorite memories at TU on #ThrowbackThursday.
 
Friday was #FunFactFriday where student-athletes were encouraged to share facts about themselves we otherwise wouldn't know, whether it's a special talent, obscure hobby or something else.
 
The weekend was full of home sporting events. The men's soccer game, a 1-0 victory over the South Florida Bulls, on Friday night closed out the regular season for the Hurricane. The football team hosted its Spring Game on Saturday, while the women's soccer team finished its season Sunday afternoon with a 7-0 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
 
On Sunday's #NationalPetDay, TU student-athletes were encouraged to share photos of their dogs, cats, hamsters, hedgehogs, fish, etc. rocking TU Blue & Gold colors or gear.
