Delce and Norwood named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll

TULSA, Okla. – Chenise Delce and Kylie Norwood both are named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after leading the Hurricane to a 3-1 series win over the No. 22-ranked UCF Knights, it was announced today.
 
This is the second time this season that the Hurricane pitcher has been named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Delce drew the start in the circle on the opening game of the series against the Knights. The sophomore went 6 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits. She picked up her 3rd win of the season with the 5-1 TU victory.
 
The Oklahoma City, Okla. native led the Hurricane from the plate as she recorded 6 hits during 8 at bats for a .857 batting average. With her 6 hits she added a walk, resulting in just one out from Delce during the series.
 
Norwood brought a consistent bat to the series for the Hurricane. She recorded 7 hits during 16 at bats, putting in a .438 batting average. The second basemen drove in 4 runs with two extra-base hits during the weekend.
 
With the Hurricane down 4-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning during the second game of the series, the second basemen hit her third career home run and second of the season, sparking the come-from-behind victory for TU.
 
Delce and Norwood are the 5th and 6th American Athletic Conference Weekly awards for the Hurricane. Alexis Perry was named to the honor roll on March 29, while Samantha Pochop was named Pitcher of the Week on March 22, while Haley Morgan was named Player of the Week on March 8.  Delce also was selected to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll on March 8 for her pitching in the OSU/TU Tournament.
 
The Hurricane continues conference play this weekend, as they travel to Tampa, Fla. to take on the USF Bulls April 9-11.
