
Tulsa Men’s Track & Field Team Earns American Athletic Conference Team Academic Excellence Award

Tulsa wins for the sixth time in seven years as a league member
IRVING, Texas –– The University of Tulsa's men's indoor and outdoor track & field teams were two of a league-high seven Golden Hurricane teams that earned the American Athletic Conference's Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2020-21 academic year.
The Tulsa men's track & field team produced a cumulative 3.520 grade point average this past year.
Men's track & field has now won the award for the sixth time in its seven years as a league member. The Hurricane track team was also the recipient of the award in the 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2018-19 and the 2019-20 seasons.
In addition to the men's track & field team, Tulsa's women's basketball, men's soccer, softball, men's tennis and women's volleyball were also honored with the league's Academic Excellence Award.
The Team Academic Excellence Award is awarded to the institution in each conference-sponsored sport with the highest cumulative grade point average for the year. Cincinnati was second to Tulsa for teams honored this season with a total of six and the next closest was Temple and Tulane with three each.
