PRACTICE 2: Hurricane Back on the Practice Field Thursday

TULSA, Okla. –– Tulsa was back on practice field in shorts and helmets Thursday morning for the second practice session of preseason camp. The Golden Hurricane worked out for two hours on the grass of Harwell Field.

"It was a beautiful day for fall camp. It was a little muggy, but the sun was behind the clouds. I thought our guys came out with great energy again today. At this time of year, that's what your searching for, guys to be resilient and start being consistent," said Montgomery.

"We had an opportunity to watch tape from yesterday. We saw things today that were corrected and guys making decisions and moves on the field that will help us. We had a very competitive day," said Montgomery.

From day one to day two, Montgomery talked about not making the same mistakes and adjusting to getting back to 11-on-11 foootball.

"We came out on day two not wanting to make those same mistakes" said Montgomery. "Yesterday our receivers needed to get back in the mode of catching the ball in traffic. They were doing everything against the air all summer long and then all of a sudden they come out here and there's 11 defenders on the field. I thought we made good adjustments and good improvement in that area, but that's what you're searching for. You want to see improvement from day one to day two, day two to day three, and each day getting better and better."

The Hurricane will be back on the practice field Friday morning.
