
Yuhasz Wins Women’s Race as Tulsa Runners Compete at Cowboy Preview

Tulsa teams finish in second
STILLWATER, Okla. –– In the curtain raiser for the 2021 campaign, the Tulsa men and women ran against athletes from in-state rivals Oklahoma State and Oklahoma on Wednesday morning. Both Hurricane teams took second place.
For the women, freshman returner Abbey Yuhasz (10:45.9) led all runners in the Women's 3K. Keely Jones (11:23.6) and Chloe McEachran (11:30.8) finished six and ninth respectively to lead Hurricane runners in the top-10. Senior Alice Newcombe finished 11th and sophomore Kylee Reed grabbed 15th to round out Tulsa's scoring.
The men finished consecutively in their 5K, grabbing six through 10th. Malte Propp (15:22.5) paced the Hurricane. Max Nores, Christian Baker, Michael Gates, and Jerik Embleton were the next four finishers.
The Golden Hurricane cross-country teams return to action on Sept. 18 for the Cowboy Jamboree at this same course.
