
Tulsa Women & Men Place in Top-5 at OSU Cowboy Jamboree

STILLWATER, Okla. –– The Tulsa cross country teams placed among the top-5 at the OSU Cowboy Jamboree Saturday morning.
The Hurricane women finished in 4th place among 16 teams with 127 points, while Tulsa's 8th-ranked men's team turned in a 5th place performance with 125 points in the 18-team field. No. 8-ranked Colorado won the women's race with 30 points, while No. 1 Northern Arizona captured the men's title with 41 points.
Tulsa's Caroline Miller and Katharina Pesendorfer finished among the top-20. Miller placed 14th with a 6K time of 21:36.0, while Pesendorfer crossed the finish line in a time of 21:50.7 for 20th place.
The Hurricane had three more runners finish among the top-45 finishers with Layla Roebke in 26th place with a time of 22:05.2, Avery Hill in 34th place (22:31.0), Chloe Hershenow was 38th (22:49.1) and Keely Jones in 43rd place with a time of 22:54.2.
For the men, Scott Beattie had Tulsa's best showing with an 11th place performance in a time of 23:59.0 and Cormac Dalton finished in 15th place as he clocked a time of 24:06.3. Michael Power's time of 24:40.2 was good for 30th place and returning All-American Peter Lynch clocked a time of 24:40.2 for a 34th place finish.
Michael Gates (25:10.2) and Christian Baker (25:18.3) placed in 46th and 53rd place, respectively.
Both teams will be in action next at the Chili Pepper Festival, Oct. 2, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
