Tulsa’s Davis Brin Named AAC Offensive Player of the Week

Zack Long named to weekly Honor Roll



IRVING, Texas –– The University of Tulsa junior quarterback Davis Brin was named the American Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced today. In addition, senior placekicker Zack Long was named to the AAC's weekly honor roll
 
The 6'2" Brin helped lead the Golden Hurricane to a 41-34 victory over the Arkansas State Red Wolves on Saturday.
 
From Boerne Champion High School in the San Antonio area, Brin had his second consecutive game passing for over 350 yards. He completed 17-of-25 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns. Brin's TD passes covered 88, 34 and 17 yards.
 
With Tulsa trailing 14-7 and under five minutes to play in the first half, Brin led the Hurricane on three scoring drives in the final five minutes of the half. In that span, Tulsa scored 17 points in the final 3:23 to take a 24-14 lead into halftime. To start the third quarter, Brin led Tulsa on a second-half opening 75-yard, 6-play drive to take a 31-14 lead.
 
After four games, Brin is the league's second-ranked passer with a 302-yard average per game, while ranking third in total offense at 304.7 yards per game.
 
A native of Pacific, Missouri, Long is in his second season handling the kicking duties for the Hurricane. He scored 11 points in Tulsa's 7-point victory over A-State with two field goals and 5-of-5 PATs. His field goals covered 41 and 45 yards. Long has connected on 6-of-6 field goals and 11-of-11 PATs this year for a team-high 29 points in four games.
