Tulsa Football Adds University of Colorado Transfer

TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa football program added transfer Jayden Simon to the roster as the junior defensive lineman began classes today at the school, Head Coach Philip Montgomery announced.
 
Simon, a 6-3, 315-pounder from Tacoma, Washington, transfers to Tulsa from the University of Colorado. He played in eight games in 2021 and recorded three tackles. Simon did not see action in his first two seasons.
 
In 2020, Simon was named the 2020 Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year as a redshirt freshman.
 
Simon was a 3-star prospect at Lincoln High School and ranked as the No. 11 player in the state of Washington. He earned honorable mention all-state honors as both a defensive and offensive lineman as a senior.
 
He was the Defensive Lineman of the Year for the 3A Pierce County district and made the first-team All-3A Pierce Country team on both offense and defense.  Simon recorded 54 tackles, including 30 solo tackles, with 20 tackles for a loss and nine sacks as a senior. He also had two pass breakups, one forced fumble and one interception, which he returned 15 yards for a touchdown.
   
Simon helped lead his prep team compile a three-year 26-8 record.
 
Four December signees also began classes today including linebacker Zachary Neilsen, junior college receiver Nick Rempert, prep receiver Keith Wheeler II and quarterback Cardell Williams. In addition, IMG Academy's Grant "Cookie" Desiderio, a walk-on running back originally from Somerville, New Jersey, started classes Monday.
