TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa men's basketball team is set for a Wednesday evening road game against the Tulane Green Wave in the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse.
 
Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m. (CT) on ESPNU. John Schriffen will provide the play-by-play, and Tim Welsh will serve as the analyst for the matchup. Fans can also catch Bruce Howard and J.R. Rollo on Big Country 99.5 FM.
 
The Golden Hurricane (6-11, 0-6 The American) will attempt to get off the schneid after dropping six consecutive conference games. On Sunday, Tulsa saw a double-digit second half lead disappear in an 83-81 loss to the Memphis Tigers.   
 
The Hurricane were up 46-33 at the break, but the Tigers responded to hit 70.8 percent of its shots in the second half (17-24) to steal the win. Tulsa found itself down seven with a little more than two minutes remaining but were able to get within 83-81 with 24 seconds remaining after the Tigers split a pair of free throws. However, TU was unable to find a clean shot and Memphis escaped.
 
Jeriah Horne paced Tulsa with 19 points and seven rebounds. After his 21-point performance against Cincinnati, Darien Jackson had 15 against Memphis. Sam Griffin scored 13 and LaDavius Draine went 4-of-6 from deep for 12 points. Anthony Pritchard led the team with four assists.
 
Tulane is on a two-game skid of its own after dropping a 68-66 decision to UCF on Saturday. The Green Wave trailed by three at half and with 10 minutes to play, Tulane had built a 13-point advantage. However, the lead evaporated in the ensuing five minutes and UCF held off the Green Wave for the win.
 
Jaylen Forbes and Jalen Cook paced Tulane with 17 points and 16 points respectively, but Forbes went 2-14 (14.3 percent) from beyond the arc. As a team, Tulane was only 5-25 from deep, well below its 35.1 season shooting percentage, contributing to the loss.
 
Heading into the 33rd meeting on Wednesday, Tulsa holds a 24-8 series advantage on the Green Wave and are 8-4 in New Orleans, having not lost there since 2017. Tulane swept the series a season ago, winning 58-48 in the Reynolds Center on Feb. 10, and then again to put an end to Tulsa's season at the American Athletic Conference tournament in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to last season, Tulsa had won seven straight contests against Tulane.
 
Horne leads the Hurricane, averaging 17. 4 points per game and pulling down 7.4 rebounds a game. He also leads the conference in rebounding and defensive rebounds per game (5.9) and is ranked 128th and 70th in the nation for those statistics.
 
Griffin averages 15.5 points per game and he and Horne are in the top-five in the conference for made field goals, as Horne has knocked down 99 and Griffin has 98 makes.
 
Cook paces Tulane with 19.3 points per game, followed by Forbes and his 15.1 per night. Kevin Cross also averages double-figure scoring, averaging 13.7 points. Cross leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 5.9 boards per game. Forbes snags 4.9 a night, finishing just behind Cross.
 
After Wednesday's game, the Golden Hurricane welcomes South Florida to the Reynolds Center for this season's Coaches versus Cancer game. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. (CT) on Saturday and the game will air live on ESPN+.
