Tulsa's 10th-ranked men's soccer team registered a 3-0 win over FAU on Wednesday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The Golden Hurricane moved to 6-1-2 on the season and 2-1-1 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Owls fell to 3-5-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the league.
"We showed a good level of patience, we created 10 shots in the first half and as the half went on we played better and controlled much of the game," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "I thought we showed pretty good discipline, although there were moments we could have been better, but overall it was a good win over a team that was in first place in our conference."
Tulsa will return to action on Sunday, October 9 against South Florida beginning at 6:00 pm in Tampa, Fla.
How it Happened
Will Edwards tallied his first collegiate goal in the 37th minute as he drilled in a rebound attempt taken by Thomas Wells. Edwards shot came from two yards out on the right side.
Henry Sach gave TU a two-goal cushion in the 63rd minute as he headed in a score from five yards out. Takayoshi Wyatt controlled the ball in the box, threaded it to Luke Jeffus who floated it to Sach.
With just 12 seconds to play, Malik Henry-Scott knocked in a goal from 18 yards out up the middle off a pass from John Dalby.
