Nation’s 2nd-Leading Receiver Stokes Added to Biletnikoff List

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –– University of Tulsa receiver Keylon Stokes was added to the Biletnikoff Watch List, it was announced by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation. The postseason award is presented to College Football's Outstanding FBS receiver regardless of position
 
Stokes, 5'10" graduate, is ranked second in the nation for receiving yards with 613 behind Old Dominion's Ali Jennings with 688 yards. His 122.6-yard average per game is third in the FBS behind SMU's Rashlee Rice (141.2) and Jennings (137.6). Stokes also ranks seventh for receptions per game (7.4), 22nd for all-purpose yards (136.8) and 48th for punt return yards (6.4).
 
A four-year starter, Stokes has moved into fifth place on the school's all-time receiving list with 3,163 yards. Stokes needs just 46 yards to surpass Keyarris Garrett for fourth place and is 87 yards shy of tying his brother Keevan Lucas (2013-16) for third place (3,250) on the all-time list. He needs 137 yards to tie Dan Bitson (1987-89, '91) for second place and 180 yards shy of all-time leader Howard Twilley's (1963-65) school record of 3,343 yards.
 
The name Biletnikoff is synonymous with the term receiver. Fred Biletnikoff, a member of the pro and college football halls of fame, was a consensus All-America receiver at Florida State University and an All-Pro receiver for the Oakland Raiders. He caught 589 passes for 8,974 yards and 76 touchdowns in his 14-year Raiders career from 1965 through 1978. Fred was the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XI.
 
The semifinalists, finalists, and award recipient are selected by the highly distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of 610 prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, Biletnikoff Award winners, and other former receivers. Foundation trustees do not vote and have never voted.
