THE STORYLINES . . .
•     Tulsa is in its 126th season of football in 2022.
•     Tulsa has the smallest FBS enrollment with a total enrollment of 3,705 students … Houston's enrollment is 43,770 students.
•     Among American Athletic Conference teams, the two schools have faced each other the most in their histories, playing for the 46th time this week … the next highest for the two schools is 37 meetings with Cincinnati for Tulsa, while Houston has faced SMU 37 times as well.
 
THE SERIES . . .
•     This is the 46th meeting between Tulsa and Houston.
•     The Cougars lead the series 26-19 and has won the last three meetings.
•     Houston has a 15-9 record at home against the Hurricane.
•     Tulsa's last win in the series came in 2017 by a score of 45-17 at home on Homecoming … the last Tulsa win in Houston was a 41-7 victory in 2012 … Houston has won the last three games played in Houston.
 
QUICK HITS . . .
•     Tulsa had its third comeback win of the season against USF after trailing 10-0 in the first quarter … it's the 24th comeback win under Philip Montgomery.
•     QB Braylon Braxton became the second freshman QB to throw for over 300 yards in a single game with 302 vs. USF, becoming the first since T.J. Rubley with 386 yards on Sept. 5, 1987 at Oklahoma State … Braxton is a redshirt freshman, Rubley was a true freshman.
•     RB Deneri Prince had his second 200+ rushing game of the season last week with 220 yards  vs. USF … his previous high was 231 yards at Temple.
•     CB Tyon Davis tied his career-high with three pass breakups and had a career-best two fumble recoveries at Memphis.
•     Davis' two fumble recoveries was the most for a Tulsa player since Shawn Jackson had two against Marshall on Nov. 14, 2013.
•     LB Jon-Michael Terry had a career-high 18 tackles against Tulane, the most for any Tulsa player this season.
•     After starting a different offensive line in the first four games, Tulsa has started the same offensive line for the last seven contests.
•     Tulsa has two receivers with over 2,000 career receiving yards – Keylon Stokes (3,727) and JC Santana (2,156).
•     With 13 tackles against Tulane, SAF Kendarin Ray became the third player this season to reach the career 200-tackle plateau … Ray joined LB Justin Wright and NKL Bryson Powers.
 
STOKES SETTING RECORDS; NO. 1 ON TULSA'S ALL-TIME RECEIVING CHART . . .
•     WR Keylon Stokes entered the season ranked ninth on the school's all-time receiving chart with 2,550 career yards.
•     Stokes is now Tulsa's all-time leading receiver with 3,727, sub-planting a record that stood for 57 years … he entered the Temple game needing 28 yards to tie Twilley and ended the game with 37 yards on four receptions for 3,352 yards.
•     In 11 games, Stokes has accumulated 1,177 yards, seven TDs, a 107.0 average per game on 69 receptions this year … he has totaled seven 100+ receiving games this season.
•.    Stokes has also set the American Athletic Conference record for all-purpose yards with 5,415, surpassing the previous mark of 5,320 yards by Navy's Malcolm Perry (2016-19).
 
ANOTHER FIRST . . .
•     For the first time in school history Tulsa had a 300-yard passer, 200-yard rusher and 100-yard receiver when the feat was accomplished last week against South Florida.
•     QB Braylon Braxton threw for 302 yards, RB Deneric Prince gained 220 yards on the ground and WR Keylon Stokes had 145 receiving yards.
•     The closest Tulsa had gotten to a 300-200-100 performance was in the 2019 season finale at East Carolina when Zach Smith threw for 331 yards, Shamari Brooks rushed for 202 yards and Sam Crawford was seven yards shy of 100 receiving yards with 93 on the day.
 
STOKES SETS AAC RECORD . . .
•     Tulsa's Keylon Stokes has amassed 5,415 career all-purpose yards in 57 career games.
•     Stokes has set the career AAC all-purpose yardage record, surpassing Navy's Malcolm Perry's (2016-19) 5,320 total in the USF game with 145 yards for a career total of 5,415 yards.
•     However, Stokes is only third on the school's all-time all-purpose list, trailing Trey Watts (2010-13, 5,877 yards) for second place by 462 yards and Damaris Johnson's (2008-10) leading total of 7,796 by 2,381 yards.
 
TULSA DEFENDERS AMONG AAC LEADERS . . .
•     CB Tyon Davis has totaled 13 passes defended with 12 breakups and one interception to lead the American Athletic Conference with a 1.18 average per game.
•     SAF Kendarin Ray's three forced fumbles ties for the AAC lead with an 0.27 average.
•     Davis is also ranked second for fumbles recovered with three for a 0.27 average per game … LBs Jon-Michael Terry and Justin Wright are right behind Davis for forced fumbles with two each.
•     Wright and NKL Bryson Powers are tied for fourth place in the AAC for tackles.
 
THE 1,000 CLUB . . .
•     WR Keylon Stokes also went over 1,000 yards receiving for the season in the Memphis game and now has 1,177 yards.
•     His 1,177 yards this season is the 11th best receiving season in school history.
•     It is the second season that Stokes has surpassed 1,000 yards in a single season … his previous 1,000-yard season came in 2019 with 1,040 yards.
•     It marks the 23rd time in school history that Tulsa has had a 1,000-yard receiver.
•     Stokes becomes just the sixth Tulsa player to accomplish the feat in two separate seasons … the others are: Howard Twilley (1964, '65), Dan Bitson (1988, '89), Brennan Marion (2007, '08), Josh Atkinson (2015, '16) and Stokes' older brother Keevan Lucas (2014, '16).
 
PRINCE WITH TWO 200+ RUSHING GAMES . . .
•     RB Deneric Prince has turned in two career 200+ rushing games, both coming this season … he now also has five 100+ rushing games in his career.
•     In just his third game of the season, Prince had a career-best 231 rushing yards on 20 carries for an 11.6 average per attempt at Temple … it was also the 8th highest rushing game in the FBS this season.
•     For his performance, Prince was named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose National Offensive Player of the Week.
•     Last week, Prince rushed for 220 yards and two TDs against USF, putting up an 8.5-yard average per game.
•     Prince is one of five players in FBS this year with two 200+ rushing games – Ole Miss' Quinshon Judkins, Texas' Bijon Robinson, Mohamed Ibrahim of Minnesota and UAB's DeWayne McBride are the others.
•     He is the sixth Tulsa player to have multiple 200-yard career rushing games and is the third player to have two 200-yard games in the same season … Tarrion Adams had two in 2008 and D'Angelo Brewer with two in the 2017 season.
•     The last 200-yard rushing game came in 2019 when Shamari Brooks had 202 yards on 16 carries in the season finale at East Carolina.
•     Prince has 689 yards and five TDs in just seven games this year for a 98.4 average per game.
 
BRAXTON GETS THE CALL . . .
•     Redshirt freshman QB Braylon Braxton has made his first two career starts this season, filling in for an injured Davis Brin against No. 19-ranked Tulane.
•     Braxton had his second start of his career coming against USF and finished with a career-best 302 passing yards and one TD… he also added two TD runs.
•     Braxton became just the second freshman in school history with a 300-yard passing game … the only other came by T.J. Rubley with 386 yards against Oklahoma State on Sept. 5, 1987.
•     In his first career start, Braxton completed 13-of-25 passes for 146 yards and one TD, covering 28 yards while also rushing for 32 yards on 13 carries against Tulane.
•     On the year, Braxton has completed 67-of-120 passes for 817 yards and seven TDs, while rushing for 94 yards and four touchdowns.
 
200 TACKLES . . .
•     Three Tulsa defenders entered the season within reach of the 200+ career tackle mark –– LB Justin Wright, NKL Bryson Powers and SAF Kendarin Ray.
•     Wright entered the season with 152 career tackles, Powers with 144 and Ray with 136.
•     Against Navy, Wright's 13 tackles put him over the 200-tackle plateau with 203 stops and now has 246 tackles in 47 career games.
•     Powers had nine stops at Temple to give him 204 tackles …he now has 238 stops in 57 career games.
•     Ray compiled 13 tackles against #19 Tulane to go over 200, and now has 220 tackles in 38 career games.
 
STOKES AMONG NATION'S TOP RECEIVERS . . .
•     Keylon Stokes ranks fourth in the nation for receiving yards at 1,177 yards and receiving yards per game at 107.0.
•     Stokes is one of three AAC receivers ranked among the top-3 in each category, sitting behind SMU's Rashee Rice and Houston's Nathaniel Dell, while Tennessee's Jalin Hyatt is ranked third in both categories.
•     He also ranks 16th for receptions per game (6.3) and 34th for all-purpose yards (114.5).
 
IN AAC RECEIVING HISTORY . . .
•     In American Athletic Conference history, Keylon Stokes is the just the fifth player to reach 3,000 career receiving yards
•     Stokes currently ranks second overall in AAC history with his current total of 3,727 yards, surpassing Memphis' Anthony Miller's (2015-17) and ECU's Zay Jones (2014-16) with his 145 yards in the USF game. 
•     Stokes trails AAC career record-holder James Proche (2016-19) of SMU by 222 yards … Proche has 3,949 career yards.
