
Four Tulsa Football Players Earn All-Conference Honors

Stokes earns first team, Goodlow and Wright second team and Davis honorable mention
IRVING, Texas –– Four University of Tulsa football student-athletes earned American Athletic Conference honors, it was announced today by the league office.
Receiver Keylon Stokes earned first-team accolades, while Tulsa defenders Justin Wright and Anthony Goodlow were second-team selections and Tyon Davis received honorable mention merits.
Stokes earned all-AAC honors for the second time in his career, as he was a second-team performer in the 2020 season. Wright was an honorable mention selection a year ago.
Stokes, a 5'10" senior from Manvel, Texas, caught 76 passes for 1,224 yards this season to become just the sixth player in school history with two 100-yard receiving seasons. He also had 1,040 yards in the 2019 season. His 1,224 yards ranks as the seventh best single season for a receiver in TU history. Stokes is ranked fourth in the FBS this season for receiving yards and fifth for receiving yards per game and is 13th for receptions per game.
He became Tulsa's all-time leading receiver this year, breaking a 57-year-old school record that was held by the 1965 Heisman Trophy runner-up Howard Twilley. Stokes completed his career with 242 career receptions for 3,774 yards and 19 touchdowns in 58 career games.
Stokes became the American Athletic Conference's all-time leader for all-purpose yards (5,474) and finished second on the league's career receiving list.
Wright led the Hurricane in tackles with 101 and tackles for lost yardage at 10.5 for -25 yards, while tying for most interceptions with two. He ranked sixth in The American for tackles and seventh for tackles for lost yards. Wright had four double-figure tackle games with a season-high of 13 stops three times, while also leading Tulsa in tackles in four games.
The 6'2" linebacker from Abilene, Texas, completed his career with 253 tackles, 27 TFL for -84 yards, four interceptions and four fumble recoveries. He was named the AAC Defensive Player of the Week after a 13-tackle, 2.5 TFL, one forced fumble and one pass breakup at Memphis.
Goodlow, a 6'5" senior from Del City, Okla., totaled 44 tackles and eight TFL from his defensive end position this season. He had a season-high eight tackles, along with two TFL for -4 yards and one pass breakup at Navy.
He has a career 118 tackles and 20 stops for -80 yards and 12 sacks.
Davis had a league-leading 14 passes defended from his cornerback position, while adding 54 tackles, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. His 14 passes defended include 12 breakups and two interceptions.
A 6'0" senior from Putnam City, Okla., Davis completed his career with 146 tackles, 23 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
