No. 34 Tulsa to Host No. 35 Oklahoma on Sunday

TULSA, Okla. ― Coming off consecutive victories last Sunday over North Dakota and Oral Roberts, the Tulsa men's tennis team will host in-state foe Oklahoma Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Play is expected to be outdoors, and admission is free.
Tulsa bounced back from its loss at Texas Tech with two home victories against North Dakota, 6-1, and Oral Roberts, 7-0. The Hurricane is on a seven-match home win streak and have its best start to a season since 2010-11.
Senior Kody Pearson jumped a remarkable 49 spots in this week's ITA singles rankings, moving from 92 to 43. Pearson is 7-3 this season at No. 1 singles, including consecutive wins. Ezequiel Santalla, who plays at No. 2 singles and No. 3 doubles, was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week earlier this week after tallying a 4-0 record in the North Dakota and Oral Roberts matches. Santalla is the fourth Tulsa player to achieve player of the week honors this season.
Oklahoma is 11-3 on the spring and are 0-1 on the road. The Sooners have posted wins over No. 18 Texas A&M, No. 25 Illinois, Wichita State, and Arkansas this season, and have four players ranked in the ITA Singles Rankings top 125, and two doubles teams in the top 80.
Oklahoma is the second ranked opponent that Tulsa will have hosted so far this season after beating No. 18 Pepperdine on February 6th. Sunday's match will be the first home outdoor competition for the Hurricane this spring.
