AAC Tennis Championships Underway in Tulsa

WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL I MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

TULSA, Okla. –– Both the women's and men's American Athletic Conference Tennis Championships will be played this week, April 20-24, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the TU campus. Both Tulsa teams earned the third seed in their respective brackets.

The winning team will receive the league's automatic selection to the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships.

The 11-team women's event begins on Wednesday, April 20, with three first round matches followed by quarterfinal play on Thursday, semifinals on Friday and the Championship match at 4 p.m. on Saturday on ESPN+.

Three women's teams are ranked among the top-50 teams in the country with UCF coming in at the top of the list in 18^th, while SMU is 43 and Tulsa is ranked 48^th in the most recent ITA rankings.

The men's championship is an 8-team event and begins Friday with four quarterfinal matches. The semifinal matches will be played on Saturday, followed by Sunday's championship match at 12 p.m. on ESPN+.

For the men, SMU is the top-ranked AAC team with an ITA position of No. 27 nationally, followed by Memphis at 47, South Florida 40, UCF 46 and Tulsa in 49^th in the most recent ITA rankings.
