TULSA, Okla.
– The Golden Hurricane softball team will take on South Florida in a three-game series this weekend at the Collins Family Softball Complex.

Due to the conference tennis tournament, the game times have been slightly altered. Friday's first pitch is 6 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and the finale is a 10 a.m. start time.  ESPN+ will carry each game with Brandon Hart and Brooke Smart bringing fans the action.

Both teams enter the weekend series following a loss to an in-state opponent. Tulsa Dropped to 14-25-1, 3-5-1 in The American, after a 12-1 loss to Oklahoma State at home on Wednesday. Haley Morgan hit her fourth home run of the season for the Hurricane's only run of the game.

South Florida faced Florida on the road and a sixth inning run gave the Gators a 1-0 win. The Bulls come into Tulsa with a 35-12 record, 5-4 in conference play.

Abby Jones missed her first game of the season on Wednesday but leads the Hurricane with her .330 batting average. Morgan is hitting .320 with a team-high 40 hits and four home runs. She now is second in RBIs with 17 behind Celeste Wood's 30.

Senior Samantha Pochop has a 3.78 ERA over 131.1 innings of work. She pitched four innings of relief against the Cowgirls with four strikeouts, boosting her season total to 132. In 21 starts, Pochop has thrown 11 complete games with two shutouts, including this past weekend against Memphis.

Alexis Johns is batting .368 to lead the Bulls this season, and her 44 runs scored is well above the 17 from second-place Megan Pierro. Johns also has drawn 20 walks which helps her boast a .446 on-base percentage. Meghan Sheehan is the team leader in RBIs with 23, and Josie Foreman's six home runs and .515 slugging percentage are both team highs.
In the circle, Georgina Corrick is the team's ace. She holds a 27-5 record and has thrown 210.0 innings of work while allowing only 14 earned runs for a .047 ERA. The senior has struck out 322 batters and has held opponents to a .114 batting average.

South Florida holds a narrow 11-10 advantage in the all-time series and Tulsa is 2-5 at home against the Bulls. The Hurricane took one game in the three-game series with South Florida a year ago in Tampa.

After this weekend, Tulsa will go on the road one last time in the regular season. The Golden Hurricane will face UCF in Orlando, Fla. starting on Friday, April 29. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. and each game will air on ESPN+.
