Tulsa’s Pearson Opens Play Monday at NCAA Tennis Singles Championship

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. –– The American Athletic Conference's Player of the Year Kody Pearson begins play at the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Singles Championship on Monday at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Illinois.
Pearson, ranked 47th nationally, plays the No. 60-ranked Harris Walker from Harvard at 10 a.m. (CT) Monday.
The Tulsa junior is making his second consecutive appearance at the NCAA Singles event. Pearson is 16-6 on the year and 3-1 against ranked opponents, while Walker has posted a 26-7 mark this season.
The winner will advance to play the winner of the nation's No. 1-ranked player and tournament's No. 2-seed Daniel Rodrigues of South Carolina and Oklahoma's Mason Beller. Rodrigues finished the 2021 season as the national runner-up.
