Tulsa’s Brin, Santana Named to Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Weekly Award Honorable Mention List

TYLER, Texas –– The pass-catch combination of Davis Brin and JuanCarlos Santana were named to the honorable mention list this week for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose player of the week award.
Brin, a 6'2" senior from Boerne, Texas, had his second 400+ passing game of the season with a 424-yard, 4-touchdown performance in a 54-17 win over Jacksonville State. He threw for 88-percent of those yards in the first half when he completed 25-of-32 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns as Tulsa took a 40-3 halftime lead. Brin ended the game completing 77-percent of his passes.
Santana was on the receiving end of three pf Brin's passes for a whopping 45.7 yards per catch. His three receptions totaled 137 yards and one touchdown that covered 31 yards. Santana's two additional catches went for 59 and 47 yards.
Brin leads the nation in passing yards with 1,206 yards, passing yards per game with a 402.0 average, passing TDs with 11 and for total offense with an average of 397.0 yards per game. Santana is ranked eighth in the nation for receiving yards (326) and ninth for receiving TDs (4) and receiving yards per game (108.6 ypg).
Tulsa plays at Ole Miss this Saturday with game time set for 3 p.m. from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss. The game will be televised on the SEC Network and aired on Big Country 99.5 FM radio.
