Pearson Takes Down Country’s Ninth-Ranked Player on Day One of Allen Morris Invitational

Chapel Hill, N.C. — Senior Kody Pearson earned a key upset Saturday over No. 18 North Carolina's Ryan Seggerman during the Allen Morris Invitational hidden duals in Chapel Hill. The victory came in Pearson's first singles match of the academic year.
Seggerman—the country's ninth-ranked singles player—had a 10-3 singles record heading into the weekend.
The Golden Hurricane added two doubles wins to close out the first day of the invite, including a 7-5 decision by Stefan Hampe and Volodymyr Zakharov, who saw action for the first time since transferring to TU from Oral Roberts
The Allen Morris Invitational will continue Sunday, Jan. 15, and Monday, Jan. 16.
