Kendarin Ray Named to The American’s Weekly Honor Roll

IRVING, Texas – The University of Tulsa safety and the American Athletic Conference's leading tackler Kendarin Ray was named to The American's weekly honor roll, the league office announced on Monday.

Ray tallied a game-high 15 tackles in Tulsa's 29-27 win over East Carolina on Saturday. His total was one tackle off his career-best of 16 from a week earlier. Ray had nine solos and six assists against the Pirates.

On ECU's final first-half possession, Ray's stop for zero yards on a 3^rd-and-2 from the Tulsa 12-yard line forced an ECU field goal that gave the Pirates a 4-point lead at 24-20 in what would amount to a huge factor in Tulsa's two-point win.

Ray finished his final season with 131 tackles to lead the AAC and ended the regular season ranked eighth nationally for total tackles and fourth with 73 solo tackles.

Earlier this season, Ray was named AAC defensive player of the week for his performance in a win over Northern Illinois.
