
Tulsa’s Ben Kopenski Earns All-America Honors by HERO Sports

TULSA, Okla. – HERO Sports announced its Group of Five All-America teams on Thursday and Tulsa graduate defensive end Ben Kopenski earned second-team honors.
A first-team American Athletic Conference selection, Kopenski was among the league leaders for sacks with 8.5 for -46 yards and tackles for loss with 13.5 or -59 yards. He completed his lone season with the Golden Hurricane totaling 52 tackles, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, while starting all 12 games.
The 6'1" defensive end from McKinney, Texas, had a career-high 10 tackles in the season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, including 2.5 stops for -13 yards.
Kopenski finished the season strong with 23 tackles, eight TFL, four sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in the month of November. He had career-highs of four tackles for -21 lost yards with three of those sacks and two forced fumbles against North Texas.
