King Cabbage to Perform at TU’s Blue & Gold Champions Night, April 28

TULSA, Okla. –– King Cabbage Brass Band, Oklahoma's only New Orleans-inspired brass band, will be the musical entertainment at TU Athletics' Second Annual Blue & Gold Champions Night presented by Bama Companies on Friday, April 28, at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

The event begins at 7 p.m., and tickets are priced at only $25 per person.

The Blue & Gold Champions Night presented by Bama Companies kicks off Hall of Fame Weekend at The University of Tulsa. The event features Las Vegas-style gaming, raffles, bingo, silent and live auction, and lots of food and drink, and all while listening to the best of the King Cabbage Brass Band. KCBB fuses the popular New Orleans brass band style with an eclectic blend of pop, R&B, hip-hop, and funk.

The event supports the Golden Hurricane Champions Fund, which helps provide critical funding to help meet the rising costs associated with operating a top collegiate athletics program.

A night later, Saturday, April 29, TU will recognize five new inductees and one team at the school's 2023 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

The inductees include four Golden Hurricane All-Americans – volleyball athlete Tyler Henderson, track and cross-country star Alex Becker, tennis' Arnau Brugues and football punter Rick Engles – as well as former NFL head coach Ray Rhodes. The 1922 Undefeated Football Team is recognized as this year's Honor Team.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at the Lorton Performance Center beginning at 6 p.m. Admission for the Hall of Fame reception and ceremony is $50 per person.
