Tulsa Closes Second Round Action at NCAA Women’s Golf Championship Saturday

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Tulsa women's golf team carded a second-round score of 306 at the NCAA Championships Saturday, and with a 36-hole score of 607 sits in 29th place at the par-72 Grayhawk Golf Club on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Lilly Thomas turned in Tulsa's best round of the day with a score of 1-over par 73. Thomas had one birdie and two bogeys for her second round. Tulsa sophomore Sydney Seigel, a Scottsdale native, carded a round of 77 and sits in 102nd place with her two-day total of 150.
Freshman Jenni Roller and sophomore Lovisa Gunnar each carded rounds of 78 on Saturday. Roller sits in 135th place with a score of 155, while Gunnar is in 148th with a 162 score.
Grace Kilcrease is in 145th place with a 159 total score after Saturday's 83.
No. 2-ranked Wake Forest's kept its lead with an 8-under par 280 for a 17-under 36-hole total of 559, sitting two strokes ahead of No. 1-ranked Stanford. The Cardinal had a 15-under par 273 Saturday for its two-round total of 561 to jump from seventh to second place. Wake's Lauren Walsh led the individual field with a 10-under par score of 134.
Tulsa will tee-off in third round action at 1:10 p.m. (PT).
The field will be trimmed to the top 15 teams after Sunday's third round. The 15 teams will compete on Monday for the top eight spots that will advance to match play competition beginning Tuesday and finishing on Wednesday with the championship match.
