Tulsa in Fourth Place After Day 1 at Schooner Fall Classic

The Tulsa women golfers sit in fourth place in the 15-team field at The Schooner Fall Classic following Saturday's opening round. The Hurricane carded a 1-over 281 at the par-70 Belmar Golf Course.
Wake Forest leads the team race at 270, followed by Houston (274) and Virginia Tech (280), followed by the Hurricane and rounding out the top-5 is Iowa State (283).
Super senior Lilly Thomas paced the Tulsa attack with a 2-under par 68 for an eighth-place tie, while junior Sydney Seigel is one shot back at 69 and in 13th place.
Freshman Allyn Stephens carded an opening round 71 for 23rd place, while sophomore Grace Kilcrease is 45th with a 3-over 75. Lovisa Gunnar carded a score of 78 in her first round.
The tournament continues Sunday and finishes on Monday with 18 rounds each day.
