TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa graduate quarterback Cooper Legas was named the Associated Press National Player of the Week after leading the Golden Hurricane to a comeback 46-45 Homecoming win over UTSA.

Legas came off the bench and helped TU overcome a 35-7 halftime deficit. He finished with 331 yards passing and five touchdowns and led the team with 46 yards rushing. Trailing 42-17 late in the third, Legas connected with Kamdyn Benjamin for a 74-yard touchdown. Legas was particularly effective in the fourth quarter, throwing for 158 yards and three touchdowns. He found running back Viron Ellison for a 4-yard touchdown at the beginning of the quarter. Legas then hit Benjamin for touchdowns of 20 and 4 yards in the final 2:26 of action, the latter which proved to be the game-winner following Seth Morgan's PAT.
