Men’s Cross Country Ready for NCAA Championship

TULSA, Okla. — After receiving one of 13 coveted at-large bids, The University of Tulsa men's cross country team is set to race at the NCAA Championship, hosted Saturday by the University of Wisconsin on the 10K Zimmer Championship Course. The men's race will begin at 10:10 a.m. Central and air on ESPN+ and ESPNU.

Representing the men on Saturday will be Luke Birdseye, Ben Brown, Jaden Forester, Luke Lambert, Shay McEvoy, Chris McLeod and Oisin Spillane.

This is the 14^th NCAA Championship appearance and sixth appearance in the last seven seasons for the Golden Hurricane men. They earned their at-large ticket after placing third at the Midwest Regional last week, receiving votes in every USTFCCCA Coaches' Poll this season, and running in some of the nation's biggest and most competitive meets.

The Tulsa men last competed on the biggest stage in college cross country in 2022, when they placed ninth overall and saw two harriers achieve All-America status (Shay McEvoy and Cormac Dalton (2021-23)). Tulsa won the Midwest Regional that year.

TU will be very familiar with the Zimmer Championship Course as this is the third time this season the men have raced the course. They placed 19^th of 24 teams in the Nuttycombe Invite on Sept. 27 and took 19^th out of 32 teams at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals. Redshirt senior Chris McLeod paced the Hurricane in both meets, finishing 66^th overall at the Pre-Nationals and 70^th in the Nuttycombe.
