Hurricane Women’s Soccer Hosts North Texas Thursday Night

TULSA, Okla. — American Athletic Conference play continues for the Golden Hurricane Thursday night as the 4-4-2 Tulsa women's soccer team hosts North Texas (5-2-2, 1-0-0 AAC) at 7 p.m. under the lights of the Hurricane Soccer Stadium.

This will be the eighth meeting in the overall series that the Mean Green leads 4-2-1. Last year's contest finished in a 2-2 draw in Denton, Texas.
North Texas is one of four teams to have a conference win this season and currently holds the fourth-best overall record at 5-2-2. Last time out, UNT outlasted Florida Atlantic (1-5-2, 0-1-0 AAC) in a 1-0 decision at home before tying Abilene Christian on the road in a scoreless draw.
The Mean Green's Rachel Roebuck has been a force on offense as she's currently tied for first in the conference with Tulsa's Blaine Schutte with six goals and leads the league with 4.33 shots per game and 2.00 shots on goal per contest.
Junior forward Jordan Frederick continues to be the ultimate team player through five weeks of competition. She enters the game on Thursday tied for third in the country with six assists and ranks 35th for assists per game (0.60). Frederick leads The American in both benchmarks and is ranked seventh in program history with 16 career assists.
Sophomore Leah Diaz and freshman Aniya Facen, both forwards, are tied for 13th in Division I with five assists each. Diaz also has five goals to her name, giving her a conference-leading 15 points, the 24th-highest mark across the country.
True freshman forward Blaine Schutte remains atop the league's leaderboard with six goals on the year, tied with only one other player. She ranks 27th among all goal-scorers in the nation.
Tatum Sanders, a junior goalkeeper, leads The American with six saves per game. She is also ranked 10th in program history in career goals against average (1.35) and 11th in career saves (154).
As a team, Tulsa is fifth in the country for total goals (27), total assists (29) and total points (83), 15th for assists per game (2.90), 22nd for points per game (8.30), 24th for shots on goal per game (8.80), 30th for goal differential (+15) and 31st for saves per game (6.0).
