Tulsa Cross Country Teams Compete in Two Meets Friday

TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa cross country teams are set to compete in a pair of meets this Friday, Sept. 27. Ranked 29th in the nation, the Golden Hurricane men will travel north for the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, and the women will head to Columbia, Mo., to race in Missouri's Gans Creek Classic.
 
Hundreds of runners from each of the nine USTFCCCA regions will attend the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational making it one of the biggest cross country meets of the year. The meet is split up into an "A" race and a "B" race with Brady Korsmo, Jaden Forester and Grant Musick partaking in the "B" race at 11:40 a.m. Luke Birdseye, Ben Brown. James Knockton, Sean Korsmo, Charlie Krasnoff, Luke Lambert, Chris McLeod and Oisin Spillane will represent Tulsa in the "A" race at 1 p.m. Both races will run on the 8K Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison.
 
Meanwhile, the 6th annual Gans Creek Classic will take place on the Gans Creek Recreation Area Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo. The Tulsa women's team set to navigate the 6K course at 8:45 a.m. will consist of Alicen Ashley, Robyn Kowalski, Matilda Laidlaw, Sophia McNerney, Ailey Mitchell, McKenna Terrell and reigning AAC Women's Athlete of the Week Chloe Hershenow.
