Women’s Golf Sits in Third Place After Day One

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The Tulsa Women's Golf team finds itself in third place after the first day of the Route 66 Invitational honoring Dale McNamara. The Golden Hurricane shot 579 (+11) over the first 36 holes of the event.
 
Arkansas leads the field as they shot two rounds under par for the first two rounds. The Razorbacks are 10-under par 558. Oklahoma sits in second place with an even-par score of 568. To view the complete leaderboard, click here.
 
Leading the Golden Hurricane were Jenni Roller and Zoe Shamy, who both find themselves tied for fifteenth. Roller opened the tournament, tying her career-best round of 67 (-4), but was seven-over par 78 in the second round. Shamey shot rounds of one-over par 72 and two-over par 73. They both sit three over par 145 after the first 36 holes.
 
Allyn Stephens is tied for 27th place. Stephens finds herself at five-over par 147 after the first 36 holes. She shot rounds of two-over par and three-over par.
 
In a tie for 33rd place are Samantha Olson and Jeanne Pagnier. Olson had a solid first round as she shot one-over par 72 in the first round and five-over par 76 on the day. Pagnier shot the five-over par 76 in the first round and had a solid one-over par 72 in the second round. The duo is six over par 148.
 
Golfing as individuals for TU are Hanna Robinett and Madison Roach. Robinett, who is golfing in her third straight tournament as an individual, shot two rounds of 77, six over par. She is tied for 59th at 12-over par 154.
 
Roach, who is making her collegiate debut, is tied for 76th after firing rounds of nine-over par 80 and 10-over par 81. She is 19-over par after the first day of action.
 
Tulsa returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 14, when they play the final round of the Route 66 Invitational honoring Dale McNamara. TU will tee off at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
