Tulsa Men Falter Against Kansas City, Fall 2-0

TULSA, Okla. — Kansas City (8-2-4, 3-1-0) defeated Tulsa (4-8-2, 3-3-0) 2-0 on Wednesday at Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium.
The match began with Tulsa's Carlito Saylon and Kansas City's Marc Popow in goal. Early in the first half, Tulsa's Gyuwon Chong took a shot in the 4th minute, which was followed by a series of corner kicks for Tulsa, but they could not convert these opportunities into goals. Gyuwon Chong was the lone Golden Hurricane to record more than one shot in the match. Kansas City's Jeremy Francou broke the deadlock, scoring in the 31st minute to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. Despite several corner kicks and a shot by Luke Adams late in the half, Tulsa was unable to equalize before the halftime whistle. Luke Adams recorded his second shot on goal of the season during this attempt.
Tulsa and Kansas City resumed play in the second half with Kansas City holding a 1-0 lead. Kansas City extended their advantage in the 59th minute when Raphael Kistmann scored, assisted by Joackim Betina and Bryce Outman, making it 2-0.
