TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa (2-6-2, 1-3-0) secured a 1-0 victory over the University of Alabama at Birmingham (2-6-1, 1-3-0) on Friday at Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium, with the lone goal coming in the second half. This marked the first conference win for Tulsa this season.

The first half between Tulsa and the Blazers began with both teams setting strong defensive strategies, resulting in a scoreless half. The Golden Hurricane's Gyuwon Chong took an early shot in the 19th minute, which was one of the few offensive attempts from the home team. "I think today we felt from the start that we could win this game," said Hovius after Tulsa's dramatic late victory over UAB. "We were dominating and looking for the goal, and I was lucky enough at the last minute, but I'm happy that we could score."
