Three Tulsa Football Student-Athletes Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society

IRVING, Texas –– Three Tulsa football student-athletes – Kamdyn Benjamin, Cooper Legas, and Jack Wright – were named to the 2025 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, announced Wednesday by the National Football Foundation (NFF).
 
It is the 19th year of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA, and Sprint Football, who each maintained a 3.2 grade point average or better throughout their college careers.
 
Benjamin had a 3.8948 GPA. He earned his undergraduate degree in exercise science and received his master's in business administration and sports leadership, both at TU. In his six seasons at Tulsa, Benjamin played in 46 games. The receiver led Tulsa in receptions (70), receiving yards (822), and receiving touchdowns (6) in 2024.
 
Legas played one year at TU and appeared in 11 games with five starts. He had a 3.667 GPA as he worked on his MBA. In his lone season at Tulsa, he passed for 1,144 yards and completed 87 passes. He tallied 13 touchdowns during the season and passed for a season-high of 333 yards against UTSA. He had three games where he passed for over 200 yards.
 
A Tulsa, Okla., native, Wright had a 3.760 GPA as he worked toward his master's in business administration. In his lone season, Wright appeared in 12 games and recorded a touchdown at North Texas. This was his lone touchdown as a Golden Hurricane.
 
Criteria for the award include a senior player who will graduate this spring or summer and just completed his final year of playing eligibility in 2024 or a graduate player who has been enrolled in school for at least three years, even if he returns to play in 2025; must have attained a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2; and must have been a starter or significant contributor throughout the 2024 season.
 
The Hampshire Honor Society program further strengthens the National Football Foundation's leadership role in encouraging academic performance by student-athletes at colleges and universities with football programs nationwide.
