
Coney Named to the Shrine Bowl 1000 Watch List

TULSA, Okla. – The East-West Shrine Bowl announced its Shrine Bowl 1,000 Watch List on Monday and Ray Coney landed on the prestigious list. The list identifies the best draft-eligible players across the country.
The East-West Shrine Bowl is a best-in-class all-star event that will take place at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas on January 27, 2026. Our players will be coached by NFL coaches, in an NFL facility, and will have access to NFL-level resources, facilities, player-friendly schedules, and opportunities at the highest level.
Coney, who is in his first season with Tulsa, joined the TU program in the spring semester of 2025. During the 2024 season, he played for Coach Lamb at East Tennessee State University. Coney was named a 2023 Phil Steele Freshman All-American and was honored on the 2023 All-SoCon Freshman Team.
Last season, he participated in all 12 games as a linebacker and led the Buccaneers' defense with 97 tackles and 12 tackles for loss. He also recorded five sacks, broke up six passes, forced two fumbles, and added one quarterback hurry. His best performance came against Western Carolina, where he achieved a season-high 17 tackles.
Tulsa will kickoff the 2025 season on Aug. 30 when they host Abilene Christian. Kickoff for the season-opener is set for 7 p.m.
