Blomker and Humphrey Lead Cross Country Teams at Cowboy Preview

STILLWATER, Okla. — The Tulsa cross country teams completed the Cowboy Preview exhibition meet at Oklahoma State's Greiner Family Cross Country Course Friday morning. Redshirt freshman Micah Blomker led the Golden Hurricane men, while sophomore Evyn Humphrey paced the TU women.
The day started off with the men's 5K, where Tulsa would take third place behind Oklahoma State and Oklahoma, who put forth their top runners and engaged in a head-to-head Bedlam race. Tulsa entered five runners who could see more action down the line this season, with Blomker finishing first on the team and eighth overall in 15:41.2. Brody Woodcock (16th), Sean Korsmo (17th), Ian Schram (21st) and Graham Mitchell (24th) combined with Blomker for 72 points.
On the women's side, Humphrey finished as the team's leader with a 19th-place finish. It was her first collegiate meet as she finished the 3K course in 10:46.1. Graduate student Robyn Kowalski was the second to finish for Tulsa, placing 21st, with Matilda Laidlaw (30th), Sara Morefield (33rd) and Kathryn Koonts (36th) rounding out the top five.
Tulsa's cross country teams will split up for a pair of meets on Sept. 26. The women will take on Missouri's Gans Creek Classic, while the men head back to Stillwater for Oklahoma State's Cowboy Jamboree.
