Tulsa Cross Country Teams to Race at Cowboy Jamboree, Gans Creek Classic

Tulsa, Okla. — The Tulsa men's and women's cross country teams are competing in a pair of meets this Friday, September 26. The Golden Hurricane men head down the Cimarron Turnpike to Stillwater to race in Oklahoma State's Cowboy Jamboree, while the TU women head east to Columbia, Mo., to take on Missouri's Gans Creek Classic.
The men's 8K in Stillwater starts at 8:50 a.m., while the women's 6K Black Race in Columbia begins at 10:30 a.m. All times Central.
Representing the men's side for Tulsa are Luke Birdseye, Micah Blomker, Ben Brown, James Knockton, Charlie Krasnoff, Luke Lambert, Shay McEvoy, Graham Mitchell, Levi Rowan and Joseph Stoddard. The grassy Greiner Family Oklahoma State Cross Country Course, where the Cowboy Jamoree has been held annually since 1937, has recently hosted the 2019 Midwest Regional Championships, 2020 NCAA Cross Country Championships, 2021 Big 12 Championships, 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships and 2023 NCAA Midwest Regional Championships.
The women's team heading to Missouri is composed of Robyn Kowalski, Evyn Humphrey, Sara Morefield, Sarah Hosey, Billie Rouse , Ailey Mitchell, Katie Koonts and Matilda Laidlaw. 86 other teams will join Tulsa on the Gans Creek Cross Country Course, home of the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships this November. The course, located on the south side of Columbia, is a 320-acre park designed as a state-of-the-art cross country facility. The area's rolling terrain offers challenging two- and three-kilometer loops that have made it a premier destination for competitive events.
