Moore Turns in Strong Start Against Wisconsin

ARLINGTON, Texas — Despite another strong performance in the circle by Maura Moore, Tulsa fell to Wisconsin, 5-2, on Saturday in Arlington, Texas. Moore threw a complete game, allowing nine hits and struck out two in her second complete game in as many games.
Mackenzy Glenn recorded two hits in four at-bats, contributing solidly from the center field position. Amber Turner added two hits and drove in one run, showcasing her effectiveness at the plate. Faith Russell finished with two hits, including a double, and drew a walk, highlighting her presence in the lineup.
Tulsa faced Wisconsin in a home contest where the visiting team took an early lead with a two-run first inning. Tulsa responded in the bottom of the second when Amber Turner singled to start the inning and Faith Russell followed with another single. Madison Garcia's base hit loaded the bases, and Daeya Moses walked to bring in Turner, cutting the deficit to one. The score stood at Tulsa 1, Wisconsin 2 after the second.
In the fifth inning, Wisconsin extended its lead with two runs, but Tulsa answered back when Claira Skaggs reached on an error and Turner drove her in with an RBI single, tallying an unearned run. Despite the effort, Tulsa was unable to close the gap further, as the inning ended with Wisconsin leading 4-2.
The seventh inning saw Wisconsin add a solo home run by Showalter, increasing its lead. Tulsa's final attempt to rally began with Russell drawing a walk, but the effort fell short as the game concluded with a final score of Tulsa 2, Wisconsin 5.
Tulsa wraps up the weekend tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. against host UT Arlington.
