
Cole and Moses Homer in Weekend Finale

ARLINGTON, Texas — Despite home runs from Maci Cole and Daeya Moses, along with another strong pitching performance, Tulsa fell to UT Arlington to close the Dream City Invitational, 4-3, in Arlington, Texas.
Cole posted two hits and a home run, her second of the season. Moses also contributed with a home run, the first of her Tulsa career, adding one RBI and a hit. Maura Moore pitched 0.2 innings in relief, recording a strikeout without allowing a hit or a run. Makenzie Freeman allowed just one earned in 3.1 innings and struck out three.
Tulsa's offense started the scoring in the third inning when Cole hit a solo home run to left field, giving the team its first run. The Golden Hurricane led 1-0 after the third inning.
In the fourth inning, Moses extended the lead with a solo home run to right field. Annika Dill was hit by a pitch and later scored on a fielder's choice by Preslee Ray, bringing in another run. This put the Golden Hurricane ahead 3-0 after the fourth inning.
The Mavericks responded in the bottom of the fourth with two runs, cutting into Tulsa's lead. The home team continued its momentum, adding runs in the fifth and sixth innings to overtake Tulsa. UT Arlington scored a total of four runs by the end of the sixth inning, leading 4-3, which remained the final score.
Tulsa accumulated eight hits in the game but left eight runners on base, while UT Arlington managed five hits and also left eight on base. The game concluded with the Mavericks edging out the Golden Hurricane, 4-3.
It's another trip to the Lone Star State next weekend as Tulsa travels to Stephenville, Texas for five games beginning Thursday.
