In the first game, Tulsa edged out a narrow 8-7 victory over Tarleton State, thanks to a decisive four-run seventh inning that overcame a late six-run rally by the Texans. Maci Cole posted a strong performance with two hits, including a home run, and contributed six assists from the shortstop position. Emma Vickrey drove in three runs with two hits, one of which was a double. Annika Dill added a run and a hit in her four at-bats.
Maura Moore pitched 6.1 innings, allowing nine hits and one earned run while striking out five batters. In the seventh, Dill singled, and Daeya Moses doubled, setting the stage for Scarborough's RBI single. Mackenzy Glenn and Vickrey contributed run-scoring hits, pushing the lead to 8-1 before Tarleton mounted a comeback, scoring six runs in the bottom of the seventh. However, Brinly Maples secured the final out, concluding the game with Tulsa's dramatic 8-7 victory.
In the second game, Tulsa secured a 4-3 victory in a tightly contested matchup. Tulsa capitalized on three wild pitches throughout the game, with Maci Cole recording two hits, both doubles, and scoring two runs. Faith Russell added one hit and one RBI while contributing three assists defensively. Emma Vickrey posted a double and an RBI, walking once in her outing.
Makenzie Freeman pitched a complete game, earning the win with nine innings pitched, allowing two earned runs and striking out three batters.
The game started with Cole doubling down the left field line and Vickrey bringing her home, giving Tulsa an early 1-0 lead. After the Texans tied the game, Tulsa regained the lead in the fifth, where Tallulah Pascucci scored after a single from Daeya Moses, followed by a wild pitch that allowed Amber Turner to score. Despite Tarleton State tying the game again at 3-3, Cole doubled again in the ninth, and Russell's single down the left field line drove her in, breaking the tie and securing a 4-3 victory for Tulsa in extra innings.
Tulsa is back at it tomorrow as they take on Army at noon and a second game against Texas A&M – Corpus Christi at 5 p.m.
