In the second inning, Tulsa responded with two runs of their own. Turner doubled to start the rally, followed by walks to Daeya Moses and Madison Garcia. Elle Rouse's sacrifice fly brought home Turner, and Mackenzy Glenn's groundout allowed Moses to score, tying the game at 2–2 after the second inning.

The fifth inning saw Tulsa capitalize on Jacksonville State's errors. Glenn reached on an error and scored on a single by Dill, which was followed by another fielding miscue allowing Dill and Maci Cole to score unearned runs. Turner singled to bring home Dill, giving Tulsa a 5–2 lead after the fifth.

Jacksonville State mounted a comeback in the sixth inning, scoring three runs to tie the game at 5–5. The game remained knotted through the ninth inning, with both teams unable to break the deadlock.
