DENTON, Texas — North Texas rallied in the sixth to defeat Tulsa, 6-1, on Saturday in Denton, Texas.
Amber Turner delivered a strong performance with four hits, including a double, showcasing her consistency at the plate. Claira Skaggs contributed with two hits and scored a run, providing steady offense. Daeya Moses added a hit and drove in one run. Brinly Maples pitched 5.1 innings, allowing eight hits and three runs, while striking out one and walking two.
Tulsa and North Texas ended scoreless after two innings, with both teams leaving runners on base. In the third inning, Skaggs singled up the middle and advanced to third on Turner's double. Moses grounded out to second, allowing Skaggs to score, putting the visiting team on the board. The Mean Green responded with a run from a single in their half of the third to even the score.
In the sixth, North Texas took the lead on a solo home run before a three-run homer put the game out of reach. Turner singled in the seventh but it was the only offense for Tulsa in the frame as they fell 6-1.
