
Bats Power Tulsa to 15-0 Victory Over USF on Saturday

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa secured a commanding 15-0 victory over South Florida on Saturday at Collins Family Softball Complex. Tulsa scored a season-high 15 runs to earn its first run rule victory of the season. The Golden Hurricane did most of their damage with two outs, scoring 13 of its 15 runs that way.
Claira Skaggs led the home team with three hits, including a home run and a double, while driving in four runs and scoring three times. Maci Cole contributed a home run and two RBI. Annika Dill posted two hits, driving in two runs and scoring twice, with a walk and a double. In the circle, Maura Moore pitched a complete game shutout, striking out five batters and allowing only two hits over 5 innings.
Skaggs put her team on the board in the first inning with a home run to deep center field for the 1-0 lead.
In the second inning, Tulsa's offense exploded for nine runs. Madison Garcia singled up the middle, scoring Mackenzy Glenn. Skaggs then contributed with a double to left field, driving in three runs. Daeya Moses homered, bringing in two more, and Cole capped the inning with a two-run home run to center field. The Golden Hurricane extended its lead to 10-0.
The third inning saw Tulsa add five more runs. Moses singled to bring in Faith Russell, and Dill doubled to center field, scoring two more. A single by Aliya Scarborough down the right field line brought in the final two runs of the inning. From there it was all Moore, who dominated the Bulls all afternoon to finish off the run rule victory.
These teams square off tomorrow at noon in the rubber game of the three-game set.
