
Moore Shuts Down USF in 3-2 Victory to Earn Series Win

TULSA, Okla. — Continuing off of her brilliant performance yesterday, Maura Moore shut down South Florida's bats in a 3-2 win to clinch a series win against the Bulls who came into the weekend undefeated in American Conference play. Moore allowed just one earned run over 7.0 innings after throwing 5.0 shutout innings yesterday.
Maci Cole posted a strong performance with two hits in three at-bats, including a home run and an RBI, while also recording four assists in the field. Amber Turner added to the team's efforts by hitting a home run and collecting an RBI in her three plate appearances. Annika Dill contributed offensively with a double and an RBI in her three at-bats.
In the first inning, Turner hit a home run to deep center field, giving the Golden Hurricane an early lead. In the fourth inning, Daeya Moses singled to left field and eventually scored on a double by Dill, putting Tulsa ahead 2–1.
The Bulls tied the game in the sixth inning on a throwing error, but Cole responded with a home run to left field, restoring Tulsa's lead to 3–2.
Moore retired the side in order in the seventh to secure the first series win of the conference season for the Golden Hurricane.
Tulsa hosts Oklahoma State on Wednesday with a 5 p.m. first pitch.
