
Nine-Run Sixth Powers Tulsa to Series Win Over Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tulsa clinched its second straight series win with a 14-3 victory over Memphis on Saturday. It is the second Saturday in a row that the Tulsa bats broke out for a nine-run inning.
Tulsa's offense was powered by three home runs and a nine-run sixth inning to seal the win.
Madison Garcia collected four hits and drove in three runs. Claira Skaggs added a three-run home run, while Amber Turner scored three runs and hit a home run. Daeya Moses also drove in three runs with a home run before the offense broke out in the sixth.
The third inning saw Turner's homer to right field, bringing home Garcia to open the scoring. Memphis responded in its half of the inning, and the game was tied at 2-2 through three.
After Memphis took the lead in the bottom of the fourth, Moses put the Golden Hurricane back on top with a three-run home run in the fifth to make it 5-3.
Tulsa's offense exploded in the sixth inning, scoring nine runs. Key plays included a three-run homer by Skaggs and a two-run single by Maci Cole. Garcia capped the inning with a single that scored three, thanks to an error, to blow the game open.
Tulsa looks to finish off the sweep tomorrow over Memphis with first pitch scheduled for noon.
