
Tulsa Falls to UCA, 3-2, in Final Game Before Conference Play

CONWAY, Ark. — Tulsa fell to Central Arkansas in a narrow 3-2 defeat on Wednesday. Tulsa took an early lead with two runs in the first inning but was unable to score again, while Central Arkansas secured the win with a decisive two-run sixth inning.
Maci Cole contributed defensively with six assists and two double plays from her shortstop position. Faith Russell posted a hit and an RBI, including a double, in her performance at second base. Annika Dill recorded a hit in three at-bats while playing in right field. Pitcher Brinly Maples threw a complete game, allowing eight hits and two earned runs over six innings, striking out three batters.

In the fourth inning, Central Arkansas responded with a home run to right center by Robertson, reducing the Hurricane's lead to 2-1.
The sixth inning saw Central Arkansas take the lead. A single and a throwing error set the stage, followed by a two-RBI single to left field, coupled with a fielding error, allowing two unearned runs to score. Central Arkansas moved ahead 3-2 after six innings.
Tulsa was unable to score in the final inning, and the game concluded with Central Arkansas winning 3-2.
American Conference play starts on Friday as Tulsa hosts UTSA for a three-game series at the Collins Family Softball Complex.
