Tulsa Outlasts ECU in 10 Innings Behind Brilliant Performance by Moore

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa edged out East Carolina with a 2–1 victory in 10 innings on Friday at the Collins Family Softball Complex. Tulsa's Maura Moore delivered a strong performance in the circle, allowing only one earned run over ten innings while striking out eight.
Moore pitched a complete game, allowing only one earned run and striking out eight batters over 10.0 innings. Madison Garcia contributed with two hits, reaching base effectively during her time at the plate. Faith Russell added an RBI with her performance, while Emma Vickrey recorded a hit and a walk.
Neither side had any offense going early, combining for one hit in the first three innings. Faith Russell's sacrifice fly in the fourth inning brought in Maci Cole, putting Tulsa on the scoreboard first.
In the seventh inning, East Carolina tied the game when Hannah Evans, pinch-running, scored on Hailey Deter's double to center field.
The game remained tied through the ninth inning. In the tenth inning, Daeya Moses walked and advanced to third base on consecutive wild pitches and then scored on another wild pitch, securing a 2–1 victory for Tulsa over East Carolina.
Tulsa is now two games behind East Carolina and Florida Atlantic for fourth place in the American Conference. These two sides play the middle game of a three-game set beginning at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
