Tulsa Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Tulsa volleyball team continues to rake in the academic awards after an impressive 2025-26 school year, earning an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award with a 3.714 GPA.
The Golden Hurricane also reached AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll status, meaning they finished within the top 20% nationally in team GPAs across the Division I level.
College and high school teams having a 3.3 combined GPA or higher were eligible for this honor. 12 American Conference programs received the award, and Tulsa was one of three in the conference to finish AVCA Honor Roll status.
"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
The reigning American champs, who also earned an American Team Academic Excellence Award for having the highest volleyball GPA in the conference, will begin their season on Saturday, Aug. 15, with an exhibition against Little Rock at home in the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
