Byron Robinson Jr. joined The University of Tulsa in August 2022 as a graduate assistant coach for the Golden Hurricane football team. He spent is first year on defense and now is on the offensive side of the ball.

Robinson came to Tulsa following six months coaching defensive backs at Northeastern State. Before that, he spent one season at the University of Sioux Falls as running backs coach where he coached two all-conference selections.

A native of McKinney, Texas, Robinson played in the secondary at Abilene Christian University three seasons. He was a team captain and served on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for one year as well. Robinson spent two seasons as Kilgore College, where he played cornerback and spent the 2017 season as team captain.

Robinson earned an associate degree at Kilgore in December 2017 and his bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian in May 2020.
