Lance Dunbar joined the Tulsa coaching staff as an offensive quality control analyst in the spring of 2023.
Dunbar comes to Tulsa following a professional career that saw him spend time with the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by Dallas in 2012 and spent five seasons (2012-16) with the Cowboys. He spent the 2017 campaign with the Rams and finished his pro career with the Dallas Renegades of the XFL in 2020.
The running back finished his NFL career with 473 rushing yards, 647 receiving yards and two total touchdowns.
A graduate of North Texas, Dunbar completed his collegiate career with 4,224 yards, 49 overall touchdowns, including 41 rushing TDs, and 21 100-yard rushing games. He became the first running back in school history with three consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons. Dunbar rushed for a career-best 270 yards against Kansas State as a junior in 2010.
His first collegiate game came against Tulsa on Sept. 6, 2008, when he rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown on 10 attempts.
