After a successful career running the ball for the Golden Hurricane, Shamari Brooks moved into a coaching role as an offensive intern at The University of Tulsa for the 2022 season.

A four-year letterwinner and three-year starter, Brooks finished his career as the school's second-leading rusher 3,729 yards while setting the career mark for rushing attempts with 793 carries. He also completed his career ranked TD runs with 30. Brooks added one receiving touchdown in his career to rank eighth on the school's career TD chart with 31.

Brooks played in 45 career game and had 33 starts. He tied the school record for most 100+ rushing games with 17 and had eight career multiple TD games. He also completed his career ranked third on the American Athletic Conference’s all-time rushing list and first for rushing attempts.

As a senior, Brooks rushed for ranked third in the AAC with 1,029 yards and had seven touchdowns. A native Tulsan, Brooks attended Union High School.

Brooks earned his bachelor’s degree from Tulsa in organizational studies.
